Opened a New Shelter for Philippine Workers

- Established a small library for Philippine workers on the second floor of Hyehwa-dong branch
- Equipped with more than 300 Philippine books and over 200 music CDs and movie DVDs
- To provide Philippine workers with culture spaces as well as banking services
  
Woori Bank established a small library for Philippine workers on the second floor of Hyehwa-dong branch to provide distinctive services in the era of one million foreign residents. The opening ceremony held 10 o’clock on the 6th at the branch and more than 100 important persons including the bank’s chairman Jong-Hui Lee, Philippine Ambassador to Korea Luis T. Cruz, the mayor of Jongno borough Chung-Yong Kim and Philippine workers.
 
The library was prepared to offer distinctive services to Philippine workers who visit the branch to send or exchange money at every Sunday. More than 300 Philippine books and over 200 music CDs and movie DVDs are waiting for them and some desk top computers and printers are also installed. There are also educational materials and dictionaries to support their understanding and becoming familiar with Korean language and culture. Therefore, Philippine workers are able to easily fulfill their cultural needs by visiting the branch.
 
Woori Bank’s chairman Jong-Hui Lee said, “We hope the library, beyond the size, to be a promising model for cultivating friendship and private exchange between two countries in commemoration of six decades of amity. We will continue to help foreign workers by sharing our love as well as expanding financial services.”
  
In addition, Woori Bank plans to hold the year-end event for foreign workers named as Foreign Worker Festival at the grand hall of the headquarter building located in Hoihyeon-dong on 13th.
