Environmental Protection Campaign
- Woori Protects the Earth
Woori Financial Group has engaged in an environment protection campaign to disseminate an eco-friendly culture and the enhance ESG management. All employees and executives of all Group companies participate in eco-friendly practices, such as recommending the use of reusable tumblers, restricting the use of disposable goods, and energy saving. They exercise leadership in environmental protection activities to ensure a happy life for the future generation.

Vitalizing Forest Cultivation Project

Woori Financial Group established the "Woori Finance Life Forest No. 2" at Urwool Elementary School in Gyeonggi-do Province, near the Ansung Training Institute of Woori Bank in 2020, to promote shared prosperity with the local community through environment improvement. This followed the establishment of "Woori Finance Life Forest No. 1" at Inheung Elementary School, which suffered from the forest fire in Goseong, Gangwon-do. During the cultivation period of 5 months commencing in July 2020, we planted 34 forest trees, 1,776 bushes, and 4,853 herbaceous flowers which have the benefits of reducing fine dust and urban heat, as well as native species in the area of approximately 4,400㎡. Forest No. 2 has become a pleasant educational environment for children and a new recreational space for local residents to enjoy.

Promoting 100% Conversion
to Non-polluting Vehicles by 2030
Woori Bank participated in the K-EV100 campaign of the Ministry of Environment in April 2021 and announced the conversion of all business vehicles to 100% non-polluting vehicles by 2030. We plan to establish a detailed implementation road map for the phased introduction of electric vehicles, and have continuously introduced non-polluting vehicles since 2019 with a total of 21 vehicles converted by 2020. In addition, 8 charging stations for electric vehicles are in operation at the building of the head office, and the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles is planned to be expanded to 10 business locations nationwide in 2021.
